Welcome Back - 26/27
We hope that your summer was filled with fun, family and lots of rest. While it can be hard to say goodbye to the summer, we are very excited to get back into the swing of things at school!
The PTO Executive Board is made up of Sabrina Potterpin (President), Theresa Rice-Olowolafe (Vice President), Brett Gopal (Treasurer), Jayasimha Daddam (Secretary) and Pat Daniels (Communication Coordinator). There is also an amazing list of committee chairs and members that have committed to serve this year.
We are very much looking forward to the 26-27 school year and wanted to bring a few things to your attention:
Kickstart/Open House: We will be set up at a table outside of the K wing towards the front of school. We will be there to help greet families, let people know how they can get involved with the PTO, distribute event calendars, and hand out popsicles to our students.
Distributions: We will be in contact with teachers soon to discuss a change to distributions for 26/27.
Teacher Representative slots on PTO Event Committees: We in need of staff members to be the representatives for the following committees: Teacher Appreciation/School Spirit, Wolf Walk, Hiawatha Harvest, Mileage Club, Hiawatha Happening, Fundraising and Global Gathering. Your input and participation are key in helping to make these events a success! If you are interested in sitting on a committee, please reach out to Stephanie Coontz or the PTO. We would love to have you!

Information Sharing: Throughout the year, we will be sending you information about events and opportunities that we would like you to share with families. Please keep an eye out for these, we will draft language for you to copy and paste and/or supply an infographic to make it as simple as possible! Because the PTO does not have the ability to communicate directly with all Hiawatha families, we will be relying on you to help us with sharing information. We truly appreciate your partnership to help make these school wide events a success!
